Brief introduction of HDD Pipe Wrench

 

• This is a hydraulic device for assembling or disassembling drill rods in trenchless drilling, converting mechanical energy to hydraulic energy, and then convert it in verse to apply the power onto the joint point of the drill rods to connect or disconnect them.
• The main characteristics of this product are manual, high pressure, portable and easy to operate.

Method of application of HDD Pipe Wrench

• Install the pressure meter, and fulfill the manual pump with oil;
• Connect the manual pump to the cylinder (pay attention not to connect the clamp at this time), release the air inside by pressing the hand shank of the pump back and forth till the cylinder comes out in a uniform speed;
• Connect the cylinder and the clamp to assemble or disassemble drill rods, pay attention to the moving direction of the clamp.

Safety caution

• Don’t make the device work under pressure 70MPa or above;
• Don’t adjust the pressure valve unless necessary;
• The hand shank should be shaken smoothly to avoid sudden rush in the oil path and enlarge the valves’ service life;
• Slowly twist the handwheel when decompressing the device. Never decompress it too fast;
• When the amount of oil is not enough, don’t inject oil under pressure, so as to avoid the existence of pressure in the oil storage pipe;
• Ensure all parts are connected correctly before work;
• Make a pressure test every half a year on the high-pressure hose to avoid accidents caused by hose aging; the hose could not be used again if it leaks at 90 MPa;

Note that your drill rod’s diameter is within our default range 60-200 mm. You can reduce or add chains to adapt your drill rods or ask us to do that before shipment.
